Japanese financial markets set to close

25 April 2019

Japan Street

All Japanese financial markets will be closed between 26th April – 6th May for 11 days to mark the abdication of Emperor Akihito and the ascension of the new Emperor, his son, Crown Prince Naruhito.

Trading on Japanese exchanges will be temporarily suspended during this period however most providers will look to minimise the impact of the market closure by accepting requests for transactions, but these transactions will not be processed or actioned until the market reopens on 7th May.

For more information regarding trading in Japanese funds during this time, please check with your fund provider.
